The Wadden Sea Forum (WSF) is an independent platform that brings together actors from Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands to focus on the sustainable and future-oriented development of the Wadden Sea Region. As a multi-stakeholder, multi-actor platform, the WSF integrates cross-sectoral and transboundary strategies, actions, and techniques that are environmentally sound, economically viable, and socially acceptable. Their aim is to create a Green Coastal Deal for the region, which supports social development, safeguards healthy ecosystems, and preserves cultural historic landscapes.
The WSF consists of representatives from sectors such as agriculture, energy, fisheries, industry and harbor, nature protection, and tourism, as well as local and regional governments. Through information exchange, project implementation, and acting as a consultation body for governments, the WSF works towards achieving a sustainable society by 2030 and beyond, coordinating efforts in areas such as spatial planning, infrastructure, transport, and nature protection
