About WAFL
WAFL, the West Australian Football League, is a renowned Australian football league based in Perth, Western Australia. Founded in 1885, the league is home to 10 teams, including Claremont, East Fremantle, East Perth, Peel Thunder, Perth, South Fremantle, Subiaco, Swan Districts, West Coast, and West Perth. The WAFL season runs from April to September, with 20 rounds of thrilling matches between the teams.
The top five teams then compete in a finals series, culminating in the highly anticipated Grand Final. In addition to the main league, the WAFL also organizes Reserves and Colts (under-19) competitions, featuring nine teams each. For women's football, the WAFL Women's competition showcases the talents of seven teams - Claremont, East Fremantle, Peel Thunder, South Fremantle, Subiaco, Swan Districts, and West Perth.
The women's competition also includes a Reserves and Rogers Cup (under-18) competition. The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) governs the WAFL and is responsible for the overall development of the game in the region.
