About WAH Foundation
WAH Foundation | Kampong Chhnang is a Cambodian NGO/Foundation dedicated to improving the lives of rural communities in Cambodia. As a not-for-profit organization, their mission is to implement sustainable projects in the areas of clean water, health, and education. Their main focus is on the well-being of women and children.
Starting in 2009 in Kampong Chhnang, a region with a population of 550,000, WAH Foundation addressed the lack of access to clean drinking water by developing a clean water bicycle pump system. This innovative system, which can produce up to 400 liters of clean water per hour, is powered by pedal power and installed in school playgrounds. Alongside this, WAH Foundation also implements hand washing and hygiene programs in these communities.
In collaboration with renowned hospitals in Singapore, WAH Foundation provides training for medical professionals in Kampong Chhnang province, resulting in a significant drop in the mortality rate of mothers during childbirth. Additionally, WAH Foundation supports the education of young women through scholarship programs, enabling them to pursue tertiary degrees that will help them achieve success in their careers. They also provide medical training and assistance to further enhance healthcare practices in the region.
WAH Foundation has a strong vision to expand their work across Cambodia and beyond, in partnership with organizations interested in adopting their model. Through their dedication and expertise, they strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of rural communities, with a particular focus on the well-being of women and children
