Waikato Cremations provides simplified, affordable direct cremation services for families seeking a respectful process without a traditional funeral ceremony. The company focuses on “cremation only” arrangements and does not offer traditional funeral services, embalming, or viewings. Families can apply and pay online, after which the team contacts them to coordinate the arrangements and transfer their loved one into its care.

The direct cremation service includes transportation from a place of death within 30 kilometres of Waikato Hospital, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, seven days a week; a simple cremation casket; weekday cremation arranged with the crematorium; required medical paperwork and death registration, including one original death certificate; and the return of ashes in a basic urn. Ashes can be collected or delivered by arrangement. Prices start at $2,450, with additional fees possible in certain circumstances. Optional assistance is available with newspaper death notices, arranging ash interment or scattering, and selecting from other urns.
