Welcome to the Waipu Scottish Migration Museum, a captivating destination that tells the story of Scottish migration to New Zealand. Our museum, built by dedicated descendants for the centennial celebrations in 1953, is a true labor of love. The building itself was crafted to resemble traditional Highland crofts, evoking a sense of nostalgia for our ancestors' homelands.

Step inside and explore our extensive collections, which include historic records, clothing, furniture, and more. Immerse yourself in the engaging exhibits that showcase the rich history and emotional journey of Scottish migration. We also offer genealogical research services, helping you discover your own ancestral connections.

Beyond our collections, the museum has accomplished remarkable milestones over the years. We have expanded our facilities, restored heritage buildings, and even established a Men's Shed. Our dedication to storytelling extends beyond the museum, with theatrical events, the renowned Art n Tartan Wearable Art Awards, and a village exhibition honoring Waipu's involvement in the Great War.

Join us at the Waipu Scottish Migration Museum and be moved by the stories and legacies that define our shared history
