As a women-led social enterprise-NGO hybrid, their mission is to prioritize the beginning of life to create the greatest social change. They believe that the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and disease is through health promotion and disease prevention.

At WAJAMAMA, they offer a range of high-quality primary care services for all, as well as specialized women's health services, including gynecological, preconception, antenatal, and postpartum care. Additionally, they provide educational health and wellness workshops on topics such as cervical and breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, breastfeeding, and childbirth education. Their holistic approach to healthcare extends to promoting physical and mental well-being through movement.

Each private client and participant in their fitness classes helps make their holistic healthcare services accessible to underserved women and girls. Founded in 2019 by Nafisa, a U.S-trained and board-certified Family and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Nurse Midwife, WAJAMAMA was born out of a desire to address the preventable suffering witnessed in her community. Nafisa's personal experiences and dedication to improving pregnancy, labor, and birth experiences have shaped the organization's mission and vision.
