Wakeman provides an AI receptionist and answering service for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, and restoration businesses. When a team cannot answer, Wakeman responds in the business’s name, including after hours, and gathers details about the caller’s request and address. It can text job information to the business, and, when booking is enabled, schedule appointments and send them to Jobber or by text.

The service helps contractors keep track of new jobs, routine requests, and urgent situations without relying on voicemail. For gas, fire, live wires, or flooding, Wakeman gives callers safety instructions and contacts the designated on-call technician. Callers are told that they are speaking with an AI assistant and that the call is recorded; they can also be transferred to a person if they keep asking to speak with one.

Wakeman says setup takes about ten minutes and works by forwarding missed calls, with the option to undo forwarding at any time.
