About Wakoen Global
Wakoen Global | Shibushi Miyazaki is a renowned brand in the world of Japanese green tea. With a history dating back to 1948, our family-owned company has grown exponentially, becoming one of the largest green tea manufacturers in Japan. Situated on the picturesque Osumi peninsula in Kagoshima prefecture, our tea fields cover a staggering 270 hectares, making us the largest green tea producer in the country.
We take pride in our sustainable practices, as we grow, process, and package our tea ourselves, keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum. Our range of teas is diverse, catering to various consumer needs. From the bright and flavorful Yutaka Midori to the refreshing Sae Midori and the allergy-improving Benifuuki, we offer a wide selection of unique and high-quality teas.
At Wakoen Global, we combine tradition with innovation. Through smart IPM farming and automation, we optimize our tea production, reducing labor costs and addressing the challenges of an aging workforce. Additionally, we have expanded our offerings to include TEAET, a brand focused on sophisticated and healthy tea products for young women and overseas customers.
But our commitment to tea goes beyond just drinking. We believe in creating a complete tea culture, and to that end, we have opened Saon no Kura, a Chazen restaurant that showcases the fusion of tea and Japanese cuisine. This comfortable space offers course meals using tea from our own gardens and seasonal ingredients, inviting customers to experience a holistic tea experience.
Join us at Wakoen Global | Shibushi Miyazaki for a journey of tea exploration, where we continuously seek new ideas, connect people through tea, and celebrate the rich tradition of Japanese tea
