Waldverband Steiermark

Waldverband Steiermark is a member-led organisation serving forest owners across the Austrian state of Styria. Developed over more than 60 years, it promotes active, sustainable forest management and the cooperative marketing of timber. Its work is guided by active forest owners, who help direct the organisation and keep members’ interests at the centre of its services.

The association offers support across the forest-management process, including timber sales and logistics, forest management and care, and information, advice and practical services. Members can access transparent, clearly controlled roundwood marketing, assistance with managing their forests, and individual guidance from a single point of contact, from silvicultural questions to timber sales. Waldverband Steiermark also provides digital learning opportunities, including online seminars presented with the Pichl Forestry Training Centre, where forestry experts share knowledge about sustainable management and current practices.

Through its services and member network, the organisation contributes to the active stewardship of Styrian forests and the shared marketing of their timber, recognising the forest’s importance as both an economic resource and a place for recreation.
