Waldwichtel Köln e.V. is a parent-run forest kindergarten in Cologne-Brück, Germany, organised as a registered association. It provides childcare places for children aged three to six, with a focus on learning through direct experience of the forest and the natural environment. At varied outdoor play locations, children can shape their mornings through play, exploration and time in nature. The kindergarten’s approach centres on learning, development, discovery and experience, supported by its pedagogical team.

Families interested in a place can register for the waiting list once their child is 18 months old. The association invites parents to make an enquiry through its contact form and also recommends submitting a childcare request through Little Bird, Cologne’s childcare portal. The website shares updates about kindergarten life and projects, including work on the site’s wagon, which serves as a retreat, a place to eat together and a sheltered play space. Parents take an active part in the initiative, joining the team for community action days and helping care for and improve the kindergarten grounds.
