Walk with Donkeys

Walk with Donkeys is a Greek Registered Equine Sanctuary located in Crete, founded by Alistair and Suzanne, who relocated from the UK in 2004. Their journey began when they took in their first donkey, George, marking the start of a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing unwanted donkeys and horses. Over the years, the sanctuary has grown to care for three donkeys, one mini Shetland, and four horses, alongside numerous rescue cats and dogs.

The sanctuary plays an essential role in the local community, providing health and foot care expertise for local donkey owners, informed by their training from the Greek Animal Welfare Fund. Additionally, the organization engages in various outreach efforts and fundraising activities to support animal welfare. With a strong focus on compassion and care, Walk with Donkeys invites visitors to experience their sanctuary while emphasizing the importance of helping these gentle creatures in need. Through volunteer opportunities and exciting glamping experiences, Walk with Donkeys offers unique ways for supporters to engage with their mission.
