The "Obretennaya Pamyat" brand is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of the town of Valuyki, located in the Belgorod region at the border with Ukraine. This initiative focuses on collecting, publishing, and systematizing historical materials, which span from personal recollections and archival documents to contemporary news compilations from past newspapers.
The brand engages with multiple themes, notably emphasizing pre-revolutionary and revolutionary periods, as well as the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian minority in Valuyki. By researching and documenting local stories and events, "Obretennaya Pamyat" actively protects and revitalizes valuable community narratives that have the potential to enrich local culture and identity.
The brand aims to raise awareness of significant past events—like civilian resistance during state repression—while also highlighting the local memory of wartime experiences. Through their publications, they create a gateway for conversation and reflection on these critical themes, ensuring that the history of Valuyki remains vibrant and accessible for future generations.
