Wampus Cat Football History is an independent historical project documenting the legacy of high school football in Leesville, Louisiana. Created by Leesville native and former student Charles A. Owen, the site and its book pay tribute to the players, coaches, students, school staff, and community members who have supported the sport since at least 1910.
Its central offering is an unofficial chronicle of Leesville High School football, featuring historical narratives, photographs, season-by-season win-loss records, and available passing, rushing, and receiving statistics. The records also identify coaches and, where information could be found, include notable honors, All-District and All-State selections, and athletes who signed to play or competed at the college or professional level. Drawing on newspapers, school yearbooks, and digital archives, the project brings together research by Owen and former Leesville Leader editor Brian Trahan.
The site also provides media, statistics, contact, and book information, along with an email list for updates
