About Wang Vision
Dr. Ming Wang is a Nashville-based eye surgeon, researcher, philanthropist, and community activist. Educated at Harvard and MIT, where he earned his MD magna cum laude, and the University of Maryland, where he received a PhD in laser physics, he is the founding director of Wang Vision Institute and a Clinical Professor at Meharry Medical College.
His practice focuses on cataract surgery and LASIK vision correction. Dr. Wang has performed more than 55,000 procedures and published over 100 papers and 10 ophthalmic textbooks.
His work includes the invention of an amniotic membrane contact lens, described as helping restore sight for millions. Through the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit he founded, patients receive sight-restoration surgeries free of charge; the foundation has assisted people from across the United States and 55 countries.
