Wapiti Shooters Club

Wapiti Shooters Club is a community-focused shooting club and multi-discipline range based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Founded in 1958, it welcomes shooters of all experience levels and emphasizes safety, responsible firearm handling, and skill development, supported by certified coaches and trained Range Safety Officers. The club has hosted provincial, Western Canadian, national, and international competitions, including the 2025 ICTSF World English Sporting Championship.

Members and visitors can take part in shotgun, rifle, and handgun activities. Shotgun facilities support skeet and sporting clays; the outdoor rifle range offers 60- and 100-metre distances; and the indoor handgun range has six lanes at 20 metres. Junior programs provide supervised training, beginning with .22-calibre rifles and offering opportunities to progress toward competition. The club also runs league nights, charity shoots, competitions, and member events.

Annual memberships offer access to the club’s disciplines and facilities, with individual, family, senior, uniformed-service, and junior options. Day-use fees are available for rifle, handgun, and shotgun ranges. Safety orientation and adherence to range rules are central to participation.
