About WAPO
WAPO, or the World Alliance of Pituitary Organizations, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting the global pituitary patient community and advocating for optimal treatment and care. They aim to improve diagnosis, treatment, and support for individuals with pituitary and related conditions worldwide. WAPO offers a range of resources and services to support patients and their advocates.
They serve as a united global patient voice in policy-making, provide evidence-based information on pituitary and related diseases, and share best practices among advocacy organizations. The organization also raises pituitary awareness through various activities and events. WAPO has a rich history, starting with the annual Global Pituitary Advocacy Meeting in Zurich in 2012, which led to the creation of the organization.
Since then, WAPO has expanded its activities and produced key documents like the Declaration of Zurich and the WAPO Code of Conduct. Today, WAPO continues to grow and evolve, collaborating with patient organizations, organizing summits and webinars, and supporting member organizations through task forces and a Medical Advisory Board. They are committed to providing valuable resources and being a trusted partner for healthcare professionals worldwide.
