Warburtons is a family-owned baking business bringing a selection of its products to Australia exclusively through Coles supermarkets. Founded in Bolton, England, in 1876 by Ellen Warburton, the company remains privately owned and is actively managed by the fifth generation of the Warburton family. Five generations of baking experience inform its focus on quality and products for family meals, different lifestyles and tastes.
In Australia, the range includes gluten-free Tiger Bloomer, White Rolls, Brioche Rolls and Soft White Pittas, alongside traditional crumpets. The gluten-free products are made in a dedicated UK bakery that avoids gluten, wheat and milk, with the aim of offering the taste and quality associated with Warburtons. Products are frozen and distributed from the UK soon after baking to help preserve freshness.
Warburtons Gluten Free Crumpets are no longer stocked in Australia. The original crumpets available through Coles are not gluten free and are unsuitable for people with coeliac disease or those following a gluten-free diet.
