About WordPress
Warmhill Woodland is a 38-hectare mixed-species woodland near Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire, on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Its trees include conifers such as larch, Douglas fir and Norway spruce, alongside broadleaves including chestnut and oak. The woodland is commercially managed, with work guided by Forestry Commission and Countryside Stewardship plans to support ecosystem health, biodiversity, wildlife habitats and the renewal of native trees.
Based at Warmhill, Deepdean Design creates bespoke timber frames and structures for extensions, refurbishments and other settings in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. The team uses timber grown in the woodland and can adapt designs to suit existing buildings or individual locations, with roof options including thatch, tile and chestnut shingle. Its featured project, The Apse House, is displayed at Leaf Creative garden centre.
Warmhill Tree Nursery raises broadleaf trees for woodland replanting and for sale, offering containerised trees during summer. The refurbished forestry shed also hosts woodland craft workshops and woodcraft courses, and is available to hire for classes.
