Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District (Warren SWCD) supports conservation and responsible land and water management in Warren County. The district serves residents, agricultural producers, municipalities, educators, and community partners through practical services, projects, and learning opportunities.
For residents, Warren SWCD offers assistance with drainage, erosion, and pond concerns; soil and water testing; floodplain information; maps and historic aerial images; and guidance on backyard conservation, including native plants, rain gardens, rain barrels, and composting. Its services also include equipment rental, contractor listings, permits for earth-disturbing activities, and stormwater basin inspections. Agricultural programs address nutrient management, land preservation, and cover crops, while municipal resources include GIS and mapping and illicit discharge detection.
The district advances conservation through watershed projects, grants, pollinator pathways, and initiatives such as the H2Ohio Program and Caesar Creek Collaborative. Education is another key focus, with classroom and youth programs, community outreach, workshops, a virtual classroom, and resources such as the Envirothon and scholarship opportunities.
