About Washington Rugby
Washington Rugby Football Club (WRFC) is the oldest rugby club in Washington, DC, founded in 1963. Its community brings together local players, newcomers, and people from diverse backgrounds, with sides for men competing at D1 and D3 levels as well as a social side. The club welcomes players with all levels of experience, including those who have never played rugby, and helps place newcomers on a suitable team. Coaching includes two USA Eagles internationals.
WRFC offers rugby throughout the year: practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with matches on Saturdays during the fall and spring 15s seasons. The club also holds winter workouts and takes part in summer 7s. Beyond its teams, WRFC supports youth rugby in Washington, DC. Started by the club in 2004, its free program reaches more than 100 children each year through schools and neighborhoods across all four quadrants, with club players serving as coaches.
