Washington State Horsemen

Washington State Horsemen (WSH) is a statewide organization founded in 1941 to bring together people interested in horses for business or pleasure. It welcomes members of all ages, riding levels, breeds, and disciplines, and promotes family-friendly opportunities to learn, compete, and connect through local clubs across ten geographic zones.

WSH organizes activities through divisions including Horse Show, Games, Trails and Pleasure, Working Horse, and Youth Merit. Members can take part in multi-breed, multi-discipline horse shows; approved games events for a wide range of ages; and trail riding that emphasizes safety for people and livestock. The Youth Merit program offers members aged 17 and under opportunities to learn and earn awards, with no horse required. WSH also provides event calendars, awards and recognition, membership resources, and an annual convention. Its quarterly publication, The Canter, shares event listings, legislative updates, club and zone reports, and other equine-related articles; members also receive the e-Canter between print issues. Through its events and programs, WSH supports equestrian participation and community across Washington State.
