About WASHWeb
WASHWeb is a collaborative platform dedicated to improving access to vital water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) information. By fostering a community of individuals and organizations, WASHWeb aims to bridge the WASH data gap, making information more discoverable, usable, and representative. The initiative encourages participation from citizens, NGOs, private sectors, and governments, emphasizing that everyone has a role in enhancing evidence-based accessibility.
WASHWeb operates through several working groups focused on key initiatives such as Social Justice, which tackles the ethical dimensions of data access for marginalized populations, and Using Data Better, aimed at harnessing existing valuable data from organizations like the World Bank for greater public accessibility. Their Systems Thinking initiative promotes a holistic approach to understanding WASH systems, while the Accountability: 4Ws initiative seeks to organize data about key actors within the sector, enhancing transparency and accountability.
