Wassersportschule Nordwest

Wassersportschule Nordwest is a boating and water-sports training school led by Hans-Gerd van de Kerkhof. It helps students prepare for official examinations for the German Sportbootführerschein for coastal and inland waters, as well as the SRC restricted radio certificate and the UBI inland radio certificate. The school offers courses, exam preparation, scheduled training dates and skipper training, supporting participants as they work toward obtaining their licences.

Alongside classroom and licence training, Wassersportschule Nordwest provides practical lock-navigation tours. Participants can learn how to operate a manually controlled lock at Listrup and, depending on the tour, travel through larger locks on the Dortmund-Ems Canal or toward Haren. Instruction covers lock-entry and departure procedures, interaction with commercial vessels, and arranging passage by mobile phone or marine radio.

The school also shares water-sports information and works with partners to advise customers about Humminbird echo sounders and Minn Kota trolling motors. Its website provides course details, learning videos, resources and updates, while a newsletter offers occasional news about upcoming dates and relevant developments.
