Waste Free in ‘23 is an organization that employs innovative, new recycling process to make the world waste free by working with communities around the world. 🌐 Waste Free in ’23 is unique because it: 1️⃣ Recycles 100% of plastic waste in an environmentally-friendly manner 2️⃣ Recycles waste at locally-built micro-recycling centers located in low-income communities 3️⃣ Recycles waste directly at the source 4️⃣ Eliminates the need for transportation between collection, dumps, and recycling plants 5️⃣ Creates jobs for local members of the community 6️⃣ Provides a source of income through products built from recycled plastic At the beginning of January 2023, Slums Going Green and Clean (SGGC), Kenya began recycling 200kg of plastic waste per day in one micro-recycling center, and will increase their recycling capacity to 15 micro-recycling centers recycling 3 tons of waste per day in Kibera by the end of 2023. We hope to spread the Waste Free in ’23 Initiative worldwide!

About WasteFree23

Waste Free '23 is an international NGO dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to tackle the challenges of waste management. By offering education, training, and support, Waste Free '23 helps communities reduce the cost of recycling and processing municipal waste. Through initiatives like the Micro Recycling Center (MRC), Pencils for Plastics, and SHaCK, Waste Free '23 promotes sustainable solutions for community waste.

The organization has successfully made 12,000 households waste-free, created 3,900 new or higher-paying jobs, and recycled 320 tonnes of mixed waste, among other achievements. By implementing holistic municipal waste management strategies, Waste Free '23 has significantly reduced pollution and created a positive impact on climate change and poverty.
