WasteMate Zimbabwe Private Ltd is an innovative solid waste management company that is dedicated to cleaning up the environment. Founded in 2016 under the name Easy Garbage, WasteMate started by collecting and selling recyclables in and around Harare. Since then, they have grown significantly in the green industry.

Their objectives, vision, and mission include providing quality and reliable solid waste and recyclable collection services, implementing environmental awareness strategies customized for each community, and promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They also aim to empower the youth by creating income-generating opportunities and promoting green industries and products. WasteMate has undertaken various projects, including private collection and separation, strategic alliances, collection schedule studies, and material recovery site identification.

They have collaborated with organizations such as Rapid Cleaning Development Trust, Friedrich Naumann Stiftung Zimbabwe Office, and Clean City Africa. Furthermore, WasteMate has been involved in consultancy projects with Econet Wireless Zimbabwe and Curverid Tobacco. They have also conducted studies like the hazardous coal bag recovery project and the hazardous chemical container recovery study.

In 2020, WasteMate was entrusted by the International Organization for Migration to collect and incinerate medical waste from different border posts. With their dedication to environmental sustainability and their wide range of services, WasteMate is making a significant impact on waste management in Zimbabwe
