Wastewater Gardens International (WWGI) is an organization focused on improving wastewater management through constructed wetlands, also known as Wastewater Gardens. It promotes these ecological systems as an alternative to conventional sewage treatment, particularly in places with limited sanitation infrastructure, water scarcity, or vulnerable coastlines and waterways. WWGI aims to reduce sewage pollution, protect drinking and freshwater supplies, safeguard coastal ecosystems, and make productive use of wastewater and its nutrients.

The organization offers consulting and design for constructed wetland systems, along with maintenance support, training, and workshops. Its approach emphasizes locally adapted projects, community participation, reduced reliance on imported equipment, and lower energy use. Designed wetlands can return treated water to natural cycles and support vegetation, while creating attractive spaces that may yield flowers, fruit, and other useful products. WWGI describes more than 40 years of accumulated research and implementation experience across continents and works with an international team. Its project portfolio includes initiatives in Algeria, Australia, Bali and Indonesia, Iraq, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, including the Eden in Iraq wastewater garden and a system planned for Ojo de Agua in Jalisco.
