Watanare is the official anime brand for the Japanese romantic comedy series Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri! (※Muri ja Nakatta!?), commonly known as Watanare. Based on the light novels by Teren Mikami, illustrated by Eku Takeshima and published by Shueisha’s Dash X Bunko imprint, the story follows Renako Amaori as she tries to leave her lonely middle-school years behind and fit into high school life. Her new friendships with the charismatic Mai Oduka, gentle Ajisai Sena, reserved Satsuki Koto and lively Kaho Koyanagi lead to changing feelings, comic misunderstandings and a girls’ love coming-of-age story.

The anime is produced by studio MOTHER and features a Japanese voice cast including Kanna Nakamura and Saori Oonishi. The official website serves fans with series information, character profiles, story details, videos, news, staff and cast credits, and broadcast and music information. It also provides updates on books, merchandise and special events, alongside official social media links and materials for viewers and business inquiries.
