Waterford Healing Arts, formerly known as Waterford Healing Arts Trust, has dedicated itself to enhancing the hospital experience since 1993. Founded by Dr. Abdul Bulbulia, Mary Baxter, and a community committee, the organization harnesses the transformative power of art to create a soothing environment at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) and other healthcare facilities. By providing arts experiences such as music, storytelling, creative writing, and art-making, they aim to alleviate anxiety and stress for patients, families, and healthcare staff alike.

The initiative offers over 300 arts experiences annually, catering to diverse groups including children in the Paediatric Ward, mental health service users in the Department of Psychiatry, and residents at local care centers. Recently, they launched the "Art at the Kitchen Table" program, which brings creative activities directly to people's homes. Although not classified as therapy, their work is inherently therapeutic, fostering connection, joy, and emotional uplift during challenging times. Waterford Healing Arts operates under Réalta, the National Body for Arts + Health in Ireland.
