Artistic Compositions by Shane Smith is a taxidermy studio specializing in waterfowl, upland birds, and other bird mounts. Founded from a passion for wildlife, the business has grown into a large studio serving clients with detailed, carefully crafted work. Shane Smith is a 1998 National Champion and has received other waterfowl taxidermy awards. The studio aims to preserve each bird with close attention to detail, combining artistic compositions, habitat scenes, and a range of poses to create distinctive displays.
Services include taxidermy for ducks, geese, swans, turkeys, pheasants, upland birds, and exotic species, with options such as flying, standing, sitting, group, and dead mounts. The website features galleries organized by species and pose, as well as game-care guidance, field-preparation advice, shipping instructions, pricing information, and client testimonials. Artistic Compositions also offers training and workshops covering waterfowl, turkey, upland taxidermy, molding and casting, competition, and habitat work. The studio is a USDA-approved port-of-entry processing facility and reports an estimated turnaround of eight to twelve months.
