About · WaterHealthCheck
WaterHealthCheck is an independent water-health information service that helps households understand the quality of their tap water. Using a ZIP code, users can receive a free report identifying the public water system serving their address and summarizing contaminants recorded in official data. Reports compare detected levels with both EPA legal limits and Environmental Working Group health guidelines, and include available UCMR5 PFAS results. WaterHealthCheck says its data comes from sources including EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Information System, federal monitoring records, EWG benchmarks, and supplementary state data where available. It does not estimate or infer missing measurements, and its methodology and sources are openly linked.
The service also lets users consider who lives in their household, such as pregnant people, infants, or immunocompromised individuals, to highlight relevant findings. WaterHealthCheck provides sample reports, guides on pregnancy and fertility, longevity and performance, household filtration, and contaminants, plus resources for clinicians and other practitioners. Citation-linked PDF reports are intended to support clinical conversations, not replace professional judgment.
