WaterMark Ecohydrology

WaterMark Ecohydrology is an environmental consultancy specialising in groundwater-dependent ecosystems (GDEs). Building on 3D Environmental’s 20-year heritage in landscape and vegetation assessment, the company combines more than three decades of landscape-scale ecology expertise with specialist knowledge of GDE assessment and management. It supports clients in understanding how native vegetation interacts with geology, soil and water, drawing on complex biophysical, geological and hydrogeochemical data to inform ecosystem characterisation, function and management.

WaterMark Ecohydrology’s services include ecosystem characterisation and classification, monitoring and management, and impact assessment. The team works with clients across mining, government, infrastructure, gas, Indigenous organisations and biodiversity conservation. Its projects span Queensland, New South Wales and northern Australia, and may involve technical or regulatory considerations. The company’s expertise is also applied to regulatory approvals for mining projects, using scientific methods to assess and manage groundwater-dependent ecosystems. WaterMark Ecohydrology acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which it works and recognises their continuing connections to lands, waters and communities.
