Water Polo Australia (WPA) is the national governing body for the sport of water polo in Australia. With a mission to create success today, inspire tomorrow, and be a team for life, WPA is dedicated to the development and education of water polo players, officials, coaches, and volunteers across the country. WPA is responsible for organizing competitions and championships at all levels of participation, working in collaboration with its members and other stakeholders.

The sport is governed by a conference of all states and territories, which elects six Directors to the WPAL Board. Additionally, there are two appointed Directors and one representative from the Athletes' Commission. Based in Sydney, the executive team oversees the day-to-day operations of WPA through the National Office.
