Watt und Mehr Pellworm

Watt und Mehr – Zukunftsforum Pellworm is a regional association dedicated to advancing education, research, and science in climate and environmental protection. Based on the North Sea island of Pellworm, it works to encourage responsible resource use and support a lasting shift toward more sustainable energy. Its goal is to help develop a resilient regional energy supply by reducing consumption, promoting sustainable infrastructure, and recognizing the role of renewable energy in sustaining rural communities. The association takes a broad view of sustainability, considering ecological, economic, and social and cultural factors, as well as life-cycle costs.

Its projects and activities address practical aspects of the island’s transition, including charging infrastructure, neighbourhood management, district heating, and the local Energie AG. The organisation also shares information on hydrogen, energy planning, and climate-friendly holiday accommodation. Through its annual Energy and Climate Protection Week, it offers opportunities to learn about these topics and engage with local initiatives.
