About WatuDev Initiatives
WatuDev Initiatives is a brand dedicated to expanding access to education and livelihood solutions in underserved African communities. Our mission is to provide pathways to opportunity and dignity for every child and youth in Africa. We understand that there is a brewing education crisis in Uganda, where only 35% of children who enroll are projected to complete a full cycle of primary school. Additionally, 68% of school learners lack a combined numeracy and literacy grade level competence.
At WatuDev Initiatives, we believe that proven solutions to improve education and livelihood outcomes already exist. Our purpose is to identify these effective interventions and partner with communities to deliver tailored solutions. Our core values of integrity, innovation, and impact guide our work as we strive for positive, tangible, and lasting results.
Based in Uganda, our dedicated team, including our Executive Director Milly Namwanje, Head of Programmes and Evaluation Andrew Ssenyonjo, and Head of Partnerships and Development Christine Nagawa, work tirelessly to make a difference. We also have a distinguished Advisory Board, including Flavia Nakajjugo, an education fellow, and Ambrose M. Kibuuka, an education and careers consultant.
