Waves 4 Wellness

Waves 4 Wellness delivers practical ocean education and water safety programmes for young people and adults. Its work combines hands-on learning with structured ocean-based and surfing activities, helping participants build essential skills, confidence, trust, and wellbeing in a safe, supportive environment. The organisation offers workplace and corporate courses, water safety and surf education, and an all-level surf programme. Its youth-focused approach aims to empower rangatahi through greater knowledge of the ocean and opportunities to develop a lasting appreciation for it.

Waves 4 Wellness is led by Andy Callinicos, whose experience spans more than 15 years in Surf Life Saving. His background includes voluntary and professional work in water safety, rescue operations, and ocean education. This experience informs the organisation’s focus on understanding ocean conditions, managing risk, and applying lifesaving techniques. Through its programmes, Waves 4 Wellness makes ocean learning engaging and accessible while supporting participants to feel more capable in and around the water.
