Wavesensations is a family-run surf business in Sagres, on Portugal’s southwest Algarve coast, bringing together a surf school, surf shop, board and wetsuit rentals, and a surf house. Its local team checks conditions each morning and selects a suitable beach based on the tide, wind, and surfers’ abilities, with options including Tonel, Mareta, and Beliche.

The surf school offers small-group and private lessons, children’s classes, and coaching for independent surfers. Certified instructors provide equipment and transport, and lessons are available for a range of experience levels. At the Sagres surf shop, customers can find surfboards, bodyboards, wetsuits, other surfing gear, and clothing, along with advice from knowledgeable staff. Rentals include boards for different levels and seasonal wetsuits, with a soft roof rack available for taking equipment to the day’s surf spot.

Wavesensations’ surf house is being rebuilt and is scheduled to reopen on December 27, 2026. Plans include 24 rooms, a pool, surf gym, co-working facilities, and communal spaces, located about 600 metres from the beach.
