Waveski Surfing United

Waveski Surfing United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that makes surfing more accessible to people with disabilities, injuries, and changes affecting balance or mobility. Its mission is to inspire and support individuals through seated waveski surfing, promoting independence, confidence, and inclusion in the surfing community.

The organization develops adaptive equipment, including its Adaptive Surf Trainer Waveski, designed for performance, safety, and stability. Participants can sit and paddle kayak-style using their upper body and arms, or use the craft with a trainer positioned behind them. Waveski Surfing United is also developing the “Potato Chip” Waveski, intended to help adaptive riders surf independently. The organization’s programs introduce young people to waveski surfing, provide water-safety education, and offer veterans opportunities for camaraderie and therapeutic experiences on the water. Through adaptive surf experiences, it supports people seeking confidence and enjoyment in aquatic activities. Waveski Surfing United also shares news, events, media, and participant stories, and invites the public to contribute through donations, volunteering, and partnerships.
