West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences is an esteemed institution established on January 2nd, 1995, under the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences Act - 1995. The university is dedicated to providing education, training, and conducting research in veterinary and animal sciences, dairy sciences, and fishery sciences. Furthermore, it aims to cater to the needs of the farming community in the state of West Bengal.

The university comprises three faculties, namely Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Faculty of Dairy Technology, and Faculty of Fishery Sciences. These faculties offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in their respective fields. Students have the opportunity to pursue programs such as BVSc & AH, MVSc & PhD, BTech (DT), MTech (DT), BFSc, MFSc, and more.

The University is committed to developing cutting-edge technologies and improving research infrastructure to effectively manage animal and fishery resources, address disease problems, optimize nutrient and water resources, and preserve the environment.
