WCCM, the World Community for Christian Meditation, is a global spiritual community dedicated to the practice of meditation in the Christian tradition. With members in over a hundred countries, WCCM strives to share the transformative power of meditation inclusively, fostering unity among people of different faiths and cultures. The heart of the WCCM community lies in the daily practice of meditation in daily life, where the experience of Being becomes the foundation for all Action.

The roots of WCCM can be traced back to the desert tradition of early Christianity. John Main, a Benedictine monk, recognized the profound spirituality of the 'prayer of the heart' and established the first Christian Meditation Centre in London in 1975. Laurence Freeman, who succeeded him, continues to serve as the director of WCCM.

Together, they opened a Benedictine monastery devoted to meditation in Montreal in 1977, forming a community of monks and laypeople. Today, WCCM continues to flourish globally, with local groups that meet in homes, parishes, schools, offices, and even prisons. They also have a residential community at Bonnevaux, an ancient monastic site in France, where meditators from around the world can retreat and participate in a diverse program of events.
