About Wise County Messenger
The Wise County Messenger is a well-established brand and the largest newspaper in Wise County, Texas. With a history dating back to 1880, it has become one of the county's oldest business institutions. Since 1885, it has been published in Decatur, Texas.
Owned by Roy and Jeannine Eaton since 1973, the Messenger has gained recognition as one of the best weekly newspapers in Texas. Over the years, it has received the prestigious Sweepstakes award multiple times from the Texas Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest. The Messenger provides a weekly issue with a paid circulation of more than 3,900.
