West Carleton Nordic Ski Club is a volunteer-run community club serving skiers in the western area of Ottawa’s Capital Region. Established in 1993 as a partnership involving volunteers, Fitzroy Provincial Park and the City of Ottawa, the club offers a welcoming way for individuals and families to enjoy winter outdoors. Its trails are located within Fitzroy Provincial Park, a short drive west of Ottawa, and support both classic and skate skiing.
Seasonal membership includes access to groomed, marked trails and a parking pass. Membership is available for adults, youth and families, with online registration offered through the club’s website. Non-members may ski by depositing a trail-use fee in the trailhead lockbox each visit. The club also shares trail-condition updates, maps, directions, frequently asked questions, safety information and newsletters to help visitors plan their outings.
The club maintains and supports skiing only on designated, groomed trails within the park; skiing off-trail is at visitors’ own risk. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on the ski trails.
