World Day of Prayer USA is part of a worldwide, ecumenical movement of Christian women from many traditions, united by prayer, fellowship, and service. Initiated and carried out by women in more than 170 countries and regions, the movement invites people of all backgrounds to join its annual celebration on the first Friday in March. Its work also continues throughout the year, bringing women of different races, cultures, and traditions together in understanding and action. Guided by the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” World Day of Prayer affirms that prayer and action belong together and can influence communities and the wider world.

The USA organization helps people take part in World Day of Prayer services and offers resources connected with the movement’s annual themes. Through its online store, visitors can order materials, and its grant program provides another way to support its efforts. The organization also shares news and educational content, welcomes donations, and works with partners to promote justice and equality for women through prayer, service, and celebration.
