About Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative
The Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) is a collaborative partnership hosted by the World Bank Group, bringing together 14 governments, eight multilateral development banks, and public and private sector stakeholders. Its mission is to help women entrepreneurs in developing economies grow their businesses, create jobs, and strengthen communities. We-Fi works to expand access to financial products and services while addressing broader barriers to business growth.
Its support includes capacity-building, mentorship, stronger networks, and opportunities to connect with domestic and global markets. Through funding rounds, implementing partners develop and deliver projects alongside government and private sector partners, aiming to create lasting change across entrepreneurial ecosystems, including in challenging environments. We-Fi also advances the WE Finance Code, a multi-stakeholder initiative designed to involve more institutions in closing financing gaps for women entrepreneurs.
The partnership shares research, tools, and practical resources through its Knowledge Portal and convenes events that promote learning and collaboration
