WEBGEO is a multimedia learning environment focused on physical geography. It models and visualizes geographical processes through short, interconnected interactive learning units, helping learners independently build foundational knowledge on specific topics. By linking its modules, WEBGEO also highlights relationships among different branches of geography and supports a broader understanding of complex processes.

The learning content covers biogeography, remote sensing, geomorphology, hydrology, climatology, soil science, settlement geography, economic geography and the philosophy of science. The site also provides English-language resources and materials from the Food and Agriculture Organization in English, French and Spanish, alongside regional modules on Darss, southwestern Germany and other areas.

Following the end of Adobe Flash Player support, WEBGEO uses the Ruffle emulator to run legacy Flash content, though the site notes that compatibility issues may occur. Users can report errors on individual pages or access the modules through a local installation of WEBGEO Lernkiosk, an application designed to display the content when Flash is unavailable or blocked. The Lernkiosk is provided under the Educational Community License 2.0.
