Widows Encouragement & HIV/AIDS Foundation (WEHAF) is a non-governmental organization based in Arusha, Tanzania. Founded in 2016 by Theresia Mollel and Sylvia George, two passionate sisters, WEHAF is dedicated to empowering individuals affected by HIV/AIDS and widows, helping them build better lives for themselves and their families.

At WEHAF, our mission is to mobilize, motivate, and advocate for widows, children, and HIV/AIDS victims in the areas of health, social justice, and economic empowerment. We strive to create opportunities for these vulnerable groups to gain confidence, personal and professional development, and learn how to generate their own income. Our core belief is in providing a hand up, rather than a handout.

Currently, we are actively working with a group of 100 women in the Arusha region. We invest our resources in providing entrepreneurship training, counseling and psychological services, and health education to empower these women and their communities. Additionally, we participate in advocacy and lobbying efforts to positively impact the rights of vulnerable widows and children in Tanzania.
