Weihnachtsbaum Glashütte is a community Christmas-season gathering in Waldenbuch-Glashütte, centred on a naturally grown 32-metre spruce illuminated with around 1,700 bulbs. What began as a spontaneous idea has become an established local tradition, bringing residents and visitors together beneath the glowing tree. The initiative is run by the Weihnachtsbaum Team Glashütte, with hospitality historically provided by four local families. Over ten years, the team welcomed hundreds of guests and donated more than €70,000 to the City of Waldenbuch for social causes.
The seasonal programme combines food and drink with entertainment and community events. In 2026, visitors are invited from 28 November to 20 December, generally Thursday through Sunday, with warm meals served until 9 p.m. Additional opening days are scheduled for 2, 3, 5 and 6 January 2027. The calendar features local choirs, bands, music groups, a children’s programme, an Advent service and a Christmas market at the schoolhouse.
