Weinfestival Basel is a major wine event in northwestern Switzerland, held at Messe Basel in Hall 2.1. Scheduled for 24 October to 1 November 2026, the nine-day festival brings together 145 exhibitors and around 3,000 wines in what it describes as the region’s largest walk-through wine cellar. Visitors can meet producers, take part in guided tastings, and order wines directly from exhibitors, with delivery arranged according to each provider. Tastings are included with festival tickets; a CHF 10 glass deposit applies, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
The festival’s 2026 programme features Bar Les Raritées, offering rare and mature wines by the glass, and Bar Les Découvertes, showcasing alcohol-free wines. Other highlights include WINEArt, which brings art and wine together, the International Wine Award iwa-Basel, and a programme celebrating Müller-Thurgau. The wider schedule includes masterclasses and additional events. A Grand Opening on 22 October features five Wine & Dines, each including a festival day ticket.
