About Weingut Wess
Christina Juen-Wess is a passionate winemaker and represents a new generation of Austrian wine creators. She is the embodiment of Weingut Wess, a small winery with top vineyard locations that is recognized and represented worldwide. Christina loves her vineyards and is dedicated to her work in the cellar, while also striving for a clear and visionary development for her winery.
Sustainability is at the core of Christina Wess' philosophy, encompassing ecological, economic, and social aspects. She believes that a successful winery should not only be economically stable but also provide enjoyment, success, and a solid livelihood for the people involved.
Under Christina's leadership, the winery has been restructured to improve grape quality through more effective vineyard management and careful timing. Her wines also undergo a longer aging process in barrels before they are released to the market, resulting in exceptional taste and quality.
If you want to experience the wines of Weingut Wess, you can participate in a tasting at the winery, where you can sample their regional wines, single vineyard selections, and more. The tasting lasts approximately 90 minutes and costs €32 per person (refundable with a purchase of €100 per person). Don't forget to make an appointment in advance!
Weingut Wess takes pride in their range of wines, including the delightful Zweigelt and St. Laurent, as well as the Riesling DAC Reserve from the renowned Pfaffenberg vineyard. Christina Wess aims to highlight the unique characteristics of each vineyard site, bringing out the flavors influenced by different geological variations, from loess to slate soils. The vineyards in the Kremstal region offer diverse climatic differences, allowing for the creation of wines with distinct profiles.
