Weklos

Weklos is a Madrid-born cycling app created by a cyclist to make it easier for people to find riding companions and spend less time coordinating outings. Designed for cyclists across the Community of Madrid, it matches riders by area, time slot and ability, helping them form small groups for shared rides. Its central feature is the “seed”: a proposal to ride in a particular place and time. When enough cyclists join, the outing is confirmed, reducing the need for group chats, polls and last-minute coordination.

The app covers nine Madrid-area cycling zones and supports mountain biking, road cycling, gravel and urban riding. Each outing includes an FTR profile describing physical effort, technical difficulty and pace, and may provide a GPX route so participants can review the ride beforehand. Riders can ask questions through an outing’s message board without sharing their phone number, and choose from mixed, women-only or men-only groups. Weklos is free to download on Google Play for Android, with an iOS launch described as forthcoming.
