Welch Scar Therapy is a Wilmington, North Carolina practice offering gentle, comfort-first manual therapy for people recovering from surgery or injury, as well as those experiencing ongoing pain, tightness, or restricted movement. Its approach is respectful and consent-forward: sessions move at the client’s pace, with clear explanations and regular check-ins, and do not require pushing through pain.
Services include scar therapy for surgical, traumatic, and burn scars; pre- and post-operative breast and chest care; and support following breast cancer procedures, reconstruction, and gender-affirming top surgery. The practice also offers myofascial release for connective-tissue restrictions, TMJ therapy for jaw tension and related discomfort, and therapeutic breast massage using gentle circulatory and lymphatic techniques. Care may address symptoms near a scar or in other areas affected by tissue restrictions, with goals that include improved comfort and mobility. Welch Scar Therapy emphasizes both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, creating a supportive setting for clients who may feel anxious about touch or movement.
